About Joseph Gigante

Joseph Gigante, DO., is a board certified physician in the specialty of Family medicine. He attended N.Y. College of Osteopathic Medicine and received his medical degree in 1988. After graduation, Dr. Gigante completed a rotating internship at Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., then went on to complete a Family Practice residency at Southside Hospital in Bay Shore, N.Y. Upon completing residency, Dr. Gigante entered private solo practice in upstate New York, where he also practiced Emergency Medicine, covering the local hospital's emergency room. Eight years later, he returned to Long Island and joined the Family Medicine group, with which he still practices. As a Family Practitioner, Dr. Gigante treats a wide variety of medical conditions and brings 33 years of experience in practicing medicine. Being part of Catholic Health allows Dr. Gigante to have access to a large network of excellent physicians and hospitals. It is very rewarding to be part of a large team whose goal is to provide excellent and compassionate care. Dr. Gigante's approach to patient care has always been to involve his patients in the medical decisions making and educating them about their medical conditions.

    Dr. Gigante examined me well. Being that it was pre-surgical clearance, he took extra care to make sure everything was, OK and that his staff knew to input the information on the Portal expeditiously.
