About Albert Christopher DiMeo

Albert DiMeo, MD, is the Chairman of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery at St. Francis Hospital and Heart Center. A Board Certified cardiothoracic surgeon, he is a graduate of Duke University, and earned his MD Degree at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. Dr. DiMeo subsequently completed a residency in General Surgery at New York Presbyterian Hospital of the Weill Cornell Medical Center, a residency in Surgical Oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and Fellowships in Cardiothoracic Surgery at Cornell and Thoracic Surgery at MSK. Prior to joining the medical staff at St. Francis Hospital in 2015, Dr. DiMeo was the Chief of Robotic and Minimally Invasive Cardiothoracic Surgery at St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport, Connecticut. He was named the Vice Chairman of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery at St. Francis Hospital in July of 2022.

    Dr. DiMeo was very caring and understanding. As a senior, I need things explained to me in terms I can understand. Dr. DiMeo did just that. He's very kind.

    Dr DiMeo is always kind takes time to explain everything makes you feel comfortable and less scared even though you're going through something very serious took the time. I never felt like he was rushing and when he said, call him anytime with any questions you can tell he really means it.
